Oberon Performance was formed from a 21-year old established Engineering and manufacturing company in 1999 in Hampshire, England. The emergence of this new company was in direct response to a Director’s simple but necessary motorcycling need for his recently acquired Bandit 1200 in early ‘99. In the UK it is required by law to have the vehicle’s Road Tax on display and it’s a well-known fact in England, that the vast majority of tax disc holders simply fail to protect the essential document adequately. Due to this a one-off holder was made using the knowledge of 30 years+ machining skills, material awareness and the desire to have nothing short of the ‘best’. It wasn’t long before questions were asked by fellow friends and riders to the origin of this truly waterproof and complimentary tax disc holder. This soon become the revelation that there was indeed a very large and hungry audience requiring many quality accessories that bring back the days of true value for money – a simple prime requisite lost in the process of mass marketed and produced parts over the years. By being researched, developed and manufactured in such a way that would leave the customer grateful and safe in the knowledge their Oberon Performance purchase would give the functionality and durability that is seldom found elsewhere in its category.

The driving force behind Oberon Performance’s success of the initial range of products (Bar End Weights, Tax Disc Holders, Footpeg Kits and Reservoir Caps) was a very concise set of rules behind each concept.

Laid out by the two Managing Directors Mr Steve Street and Mr Steve Evans; their painstaking commitment to actually install and use the products they design, simply creates an instant understanding with their trade partners and customers alike. Unlike other manufacturers that curb quality to literally shoehorn a retail price, Oberon Performance’s commitment to design and manufacture items that never compromises guaranteed consumer satisfaction, simply means it is in a class of its own. This in turn has created a strong following of the Oberon Performance brand which has helped shape and mould Oberon Performance’s direction to delve deeper in the range of accessories. All by simply listening to the need of the customer and trade partner alike.

The manufacturing side of Oberon Performance is parallel to their consumerist policies. By insisting on the highest quality machinery and CAD software allows the finish to all manufactured items to be of unbridled superiority. Time served engineers with an equal passion for motorcycles are only ever employed to ensure this tradition is upheld. From the moment the raw materials are delivered from locally sourced suppliers, every stage of production is scrutinised to the highest of levels. This attention to detail is immediately received and understood when holding a finalised product.

The materials and choice of finishes to every produced component is just as important as the actual design itself. Using nothing other than 6000 series aluminium from billet as the mainstay of the product ensures the end result is light, durable and strong. Any other materials used will be produced locally to Oberon Performance in the UK , to ensure the quality is matched without the fear of using inferior imports, to which is sadly and too often seen elsewhere.

It has been 10 years since Oberon Performance has been officially been in manufacture and providing accessories to almost every part of the globe. Every year has seen a significant growth factor which continues to spur the desire to expand the future range of accessories. Following the distinct success of more recent ventures such as the Streetfighter Mirror and LED Indicators (both Bar End and Mini-LED), Oberon Performance are now more driven to true performance parts such as the range of slave cylinders. By adhering to the founding principles that created Oberon Performance, coupled with expert engineering skill sets, the future will no doubt be a continued and much celebrated tradition for many generations to come.
