About Scorpio
Since 1989, Scoprio/Aritronix has designed and manufactured technologically advanced security and electronic products for the motorcycle industry. All of the Scorpio products are manufactured and certified per Original Equipment Manufacturers General Engineering Standards requirements. Their in-house design and manufacturing facility is ISO9001 certified; the product engineers live and ride motorcycles and design products to meet the needs of today's riders.
Scorpio introduced several pioneering technologies, unique to the motorcycle industry:
Scorpio was the first to utilize Loctite® encapsulation and potting methods to enhance electrical strength and provide waterproof insulation to electrical devices, thus creating stronger, more rugged security systems.
They were the first motorcycle security system to integrate Analog Devices' ADXL202 accelerometer, a pin-point accurate dual-axis digital impact and inclination sensing mechanism.
Scorpio developed and introduced OEM factory plug-in connector kits, designed for seamless alarm-to-motorcycle connection similar to that of a factory option.
They were the first to design FM 2-way data transmission and communication methods to bridge the link between the motorcycle and its rider.
A Scorpio alarm offers the latest in motorcycle security surveillance and theft deterrent systems. It includes a self diagnostic system that will instantly correct and reload any malfunctions or other errors. It utilizes the finest components made by brands such as Analog Devices, Intel, Texas Instrument, and National Semi Conductors. The heart of the system includes a high speed 16 Bit Motorola microprocessor with advanced programming features. Nonetheless, the it is simple to install, and comes with a complete self installation package. You don't have to be an electronic wizard nor a super mechanic to have your motorcycle protected.
About the SR-i900 The all new SR-i900 introduces the next step in motorcycle security by incorporating the convenience of hand free operation to an ultra-compact 2 way FM paging security system designed specifically for the motorcycle industry. By incorporating RFID to the system is able to know when the remote is walking close to the bike and when its not, allowing the user to never have to reach for the remote to protect the bike. By utilizing High Frequency FM technology, the SR-i900 transceiver is capable of sending and receiving commands from up to ½ Mile away from the motorcycle. For its sensing mechanism, the SR-i900 utilizes a built in accelerometer that detects both impact and changes of angles with a high degree of accuracy. It allows the module to be placed in any position or mounting angle and requires no adjustments. The SR-i900 control module also offers a built in programmable multi tone siren and to ensure durability the module is manufactured to meet OEM specs. For simple installation the SR-i900 offers optional factory style connector kits that simply plug into the motorcycle’s factory wiring harness creating a non-destructive installation.
About the ADXL202
The dual-axis ADXL202 accelerometer, an EDN Magazine 1998 "Innovation of the Year" award winner, measures motion, shock, vibration, and tilt in two axes. The ADXL202 integrates signal conditioning circuitry with the mechanical sensor structure on a single chip for use in industrial and consumer applications. ADI's accelerometers are widely used in the automotive industry as airbag crash sensors as well as for anti-theft systems and tractor/trailer rollover warning systems.
FAQs about Scorpio Alarms
Q: Is the alarm compatible with my motorcycle?
A: The Scorpio system is compatible with any motorcycle that incorporates a 12 volt battery.
Q: Will the Scorpio Alarm fit on my motorcycle?
A: The Scorpio line of products is designed exclusively for motorcycles. The simple fact that motorcycles don’t have much space available has lead us to design ultra compact components that can be mounted in any position on all motorcycles.
Q: Can the components be concealed?
A: The ultra compact size of the components along with the flexibility of mounting angles makes them very simple to conceal.
Q. What if a connector kit is not available for my bike, can I still install the system?
A: The optional factory connector kit is not required to install the system. Each system includes a universal plug-in connector kit that will fit any motorcycle.
Q: Would I need to have any special tools? Do I need to know how to solder or crimp wires? What happens if I make mistakes and connect together wrong wires?
A: Scorpio includes plug and play connections, so no soldering or crimping. To avoid any error, each component has its own dedicated matching connector. You just can't be wrong! Installation does not require the use of any special tools, not even wire strippers or a soldering iron.
Q: Do I need to drill holes on my motorcycle? Can I cause any damage? Will the system effect my motorcycle electronics or warranty?
A: The system uses a unique Velcro mount module. You're not required to drill any holes, use screws, or modify any of your motorcycle's wires or parts.
Q: Will the instructions be clear enough? What happens if I have any questions? When is technical support available?
