2006 R6 Race/Street Frame Sliders Install Instructions

Congratulations! You have just purchased the world’s finest frame sliders for the Yamaha R6. These sliders have been designed to offer unsurpassed protection to your Yamaha 2006 R6 in the unfortunate event of a lowside or tip over. Motovation frame sliders are designed and manufactured by a company that only makes frame sliders. Each and every model is tested for drop and slide protection. They are tough but not brittle and can also absorb a huge impact. Please read all instructions before beginning work! These frame sliders are designed to fit specific engine mounts of your Yamaha R6. This kit has separate left and right pieces (left and right while sitting on the bike). It is highly recommended that you refer to your service manual before performing this installation. If you are unsure about the tightening torque, check your motorcycle's manual or www.motovationusa.com/torque.html for a quick reference guide.

Included in the Street kit: (1) Black anodized bracket (for left side) (1) M10x 60 mm 1.25 pitch stainless steel bolt(bracket to engine) (1) M10x 50 mm 1.5 Pitch heat treated socket head bolt (slider to bracket) (1) Heat treated socket head bolt - M10 x 100 mm (right side slider) (2) M10 Stainless Steel Washers (2) Anodized Aluminum bushings (pressed into plastic) (2) Frame Sliders,
INSTRUCTIONS:
	Left Side (while sitting on bike) Before beginning make sure your left side fairing is removed. 1. Remove the left-side engine mount bolt (forward mount). 2. Install the bracket using the M10x60mm bolt supplied in this kit. 3. Tighten the bolt to the factory specifications - DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN. 4. Install the left slider (the one with the flat face using the M10x50mm SS bolt and washer supplied in this kit. 5. Tighten the slider bolt to the approximately 39 ft/lbs - DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN. NO FAIRING MODIFICATION SHOULD BE REQUIRED FOR LEFT SLIDER INSTALLATION.* 7). Reinstall your fairings.
	Right Side (while sitting on bike) 1. Remove the right-side engine mount bolt (forward mount). 2. Install the shorter slider with the M10x 100mm bolt and supplied washer. 3. Tighten the engine mount bolt to the factory specifications - DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN. A bit of Locktite on the bolt threads is recommended.

FAIRING MODIFICATIONS If you have the race kit, install the slider bolts without the slider. Engage only a few threads and re-install the fairing to mark the inside of the fairing for the pilot hole. We sometimes coat the head of the socket screw with a non permanent marker or place some putty on the inside of the fairing so the the screw will make a mark or an indentation. Once the center of the bolt location on the fairing is determined, it is suggested that you drill a small pilot hole to locate the engine mount. Once you have found the center, use a hole saw and cut a hole approximately 38mm in diameter. Edges can be filed for perfect fit, or inaccuracies in drilling. We have found that placing masking tape on the area helps protect from scratches, cracks, etc.
