2007 Yamaha YZF1000 R1 Race (no cut) Frame Sliders Install Instructions
Congratulations!
You have just purchased the world’s finest frame sliders for
the 2007 Yamaha R1. These sliders have been designed to offer unsurpassed
protection to
your
Yamaha YZF1000 R1 in the unfortunate event of a lowside or tip over.
Motovation frame sliders are designed and manufactured by a company
that only
makes frame sliders.
Please
read all instructions before beginning work! These frame sliders are
designed to fit specific engine mounts of your Yamaha R1. This
kit has separate left and right pieces (left and right while sitting
on the bike). It is highly recommended that you refer to your service
manual before performing this installation. If you are unsure about
the tightening torque, check your motorcycle's manual or www.motovationusa.com/torque.html
for a quick reference guide.
Important: Ensure
the the bike is on a rear stand and is level to avoid engine shifting
during engine bolt removal. Only attempt installation of this kit one
side at a time. Blocking of the engine from below is advisable.
Included in this kit:
Left
Bracket (smaller)
1xM10x60mm, 1xM8x45mm and 1xM6x45mm
1 aluminum
spacer
80mm flat side slider w/stainless screw

Right
Bracket (larger)
1x
M10x65mm, 1xM6x65mm and
1xM6x35mm
70mm flat side slider w/stainless steel screws.

INSTRUCTIONS: |

Left
Hand Side ( Sitting On Bike )
Remove the top and bottom
fairing
by
removing
the
2
quick
release
M6
screws.
Remove the M10 engine bolt. Use the supplied M10 screw to attach the
bracket.Install the aluminum thin spacer provided to the M10 bolt to at the back
of
the
bracket
between the frame and bracket.
Do not tighten yet.
Remove the corresponding M6 and M8 stock case bolts and attach the bracket to
them with the supplied M6
and
M8
bolts. Do not tighten yet.
Once
the bracket is place and screws are hand tight and correctly seated,
then
slowly tighten
each bolt sequentially until snug.
Now install the
longer slider onto the bracket.
Lastly re-install fairings.
Important: Do not exceed the manufacturer’s recommended torque
settings. Some Loctite blue is highly recommended on all installed bolts
DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN.

Right
Hand Side (sitting on bike)
Remove the top and bottom fairing by removing 2 quick release M6
Remove the M10 engine bolt. Slide the larger bracket underneath the hose and
bolt the first M10 screw, do not tighten yet.
Remove the 2 M6 case screws(1 long and 1 short) and install the bracket with
the two supplied M6 Screws
Once the
bracket is place and screws are hand tight and correctly seated,
then slowly tighten each bolt sequentially until snug.
Now install the shorter slider onto the bracket.
Lastly re-install fairings.
Important: Do not exceed the manufacturer’s recommended torque settings.
Some Loctite blue is highly recommended on all installed bolts
DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN.
