Motovation MV Agusta Brutal Scotts / Öhlins Damper Mounting Kit

Thank-you for your purchase of this kit. Please read all instructions before beginning work! This kit is designed to fit specific mounts on your MV Agusta Brutale. This kit has separate left and right pieces (left and right while sitting on the bike). It is highly recommended that you refer to your service manual before performing this installation. If you are unsure about the tightening torque, check your motorcycle's manual or www.motovationusa.com/torque.html for a quick reference guide.

Included in the complete kit: 1 Scotts Rotary Damper Kit 2 M6 x 20 socket head screws(damper to handlebar clamps) 2 M5 x 35 socket head screws(post bracket to tank) 1 x Chrome moly Tower Pin with delrin bush 2 x anodized handlebar clamps 1 x tower pin mounting bracket	Included in the mounting kit only: 2 M5 x 35 socket head screws(post bracket to tank) 1 x Chrome moly Tower Pin with delrin bush 2 x anodized handlebar clamps 1 x tower pin mounting bracket

INSTRUCTIONS:
-Make sure your bike is vertical and securely on it's rear stand..
-Remove the four bolts securing the handlebar clamps. Make sure the handlebar is properly supported. It might be wise to cover the tank with a mat or towel to prevent accidental damage to the finish.
-Install the supplied clamps in the manner shown in the picture. Reuse the factory clamp bolts at A,B, C and D.
-Position the handlebar and tighten the clamps to seat them well.
-Now loosen just one of the clamps till you can just feel it start to rock under gentle pressure.
-Remove the stock bolts at position G and H and install the supplied tower pin bracket with the supplied M5 screws. Tighten and torque.
Very Important: we recommend using some Loctite Blue here.
-Insert the supplied towerpin with the slotted side up at postion ( I ).
-Place the damper unit over the handlebar and install using the two supplied M6 screws to position E and F. Make sure the link arm is positioned with the tower pin securely captured in it's slot. Tighten and torque.

-Now that the damper kit is securely installed. Check the handlebar position and secure the clamp with two screws you had loosened earlier and cross torque all four of them ie: A,D, B, C in that order. Very Important: we recommend using some Loctite Blue here.
Very Important: Set the damper to it's minimum setting and check the security of your installation by moving the handlebars the full range of its travel. Ensure there is no binding of movement and the handlebar's full range of movement is unimpeded. You must read the Scotts Damper manual very carefully with regards to adjustment, care and maintenance before using your motorcycle.
Very Important: We always recommend that you observe your manufacturer's torque specifications and some Loctite compound when installing any screws in this kit.
Some handy industry torque references: M5 0.8 pitch - 2.5 ft lbs,  M6 1.0 pitch - 4.9 ft lbs, M8 1.25 12 ft lbs.
