All Years KTM RC8 Race Race Frame Sliders Install Instructions

Congratulations! You have just purchased the world’s finest frame sliders for the MV Agusta Brutale 750/910. These sliders have been designed to offer unsurpassed protection to your KTM RC8 in the unfortunate event of a lowside or tip over. Motovation frame sliders are designed and manufactured by a company that only makes frame sliders. Each and every model is tested for drop and slide protection. They are tough but not brittle and can also absorb a huge impact. Sportsriders around the world who have tested various models of our products on the track have all given their thumbs up after experiencing first hand, the benefits of Motovation Frame Sliders.

Please read all instructions before beginning work! These frame sliders are designed to fit specific engine mounts of your KTM RC8. It is highly recommended that you refer to your service manual before performing this installation. Fairing modification is required with this installation.

Included in this kit:
(2) Heat treated socket head bolts
(2) Tapered Aluminum Collars
(2) Anodized Aluminum bushings (pressed into plastic)
(2) Nylon Frame Sliders (longer on the right)

INSTRUCTIONS:
Before beginning make sure bike is level and engine supported from below by blocks to prevent possible engine movement. Attempt this install one side at a time only!

1. Remove both left and right fairing panels
2. Remove the right-side engine mount bolt (see pciture).
3. Remove and replace stock bolt collar with supplied tapered one. Install bolt into slider and into aluminum bush into the engine.
3. Tighten the engine mount bolt to the factory specifications (approximately 41 ft/lbs)- DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN.
4. Repeat with the other side.
*** Use of some non permanent Loctite on bolt threads is recommended.
5. Tighten the engine mount bolt to the factory specifications - DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN.
6. Replace fairing panels ( see below for assistance with fairing mods)

FAIRING MODIFICATIONS. Install the slider bolts without the slider.  Engage only a few threads and re-install the fairing to mark the inside of the fairing for the pilot hole.  We sometimes coat the head of the socket screw with a non permanent marker or place some putty on the inside of the fairing so the the screw will make a mark or an indentation. Once the center of the bolt location on the fairing is determined, it is suggested that you drill a small pilot hole to locate the engine mount. Once you have found the center, use a hole saw and cut a hole approximately 48mm in diameter. Edges can be dremelled for perfect fit, or inaccuracies in drilling. We have found that placing masking tape on the area helps protect the fairing from scratches, cracks, during the drilling process. Oversized holes may be trimmed with windshield or automotive door trims for a more finished look.
